There is no one I know more hard-working or deserving of a gift than my mum. Even when I was a teenager and could only afford to give some very amateur looking cupcakes, I enjoy using Mother’s Day as an excuse to spoil her.
Regardless of your price tag, if you feel the same and would like to offer something delicious or relaxing to your mum, this Mother’s Day gift guide has you covered.
Each product has been tried and approved by me to ensure its quality. From environmentally friendly, to handmade and organic, here are the products to shop:
The Indulgent Mother’s Day gift:
It may be spring, but the weather still calls for cosy nights huddled in with a warm cup of hot chocolate. For the perfect cup, Cocoba has a range of beautifully crafted, high-quality hot chocolate products.
I tried the Boozy Hot Chocolate Bombes and Boozy Hot Chocolate spoons. To create, you simply mix with warm milk and stir until it turns to chocolate. The bombes come with an added surprise of mini marshmallows which rise to the top. Despite being alcohol free, they taste just like your favourite tipple, with a choice of rum, Irish cream and amaretto.
Rather than buying your average powdered type, treat your mum to Cocoba’s premium hot chocolate range. It really does make a significant difference.
Cocoba launched over a decade ago as a small kiosk in London and quickly grew to having a café and online shop. All the products are packaged using eco-friendly material.
The Beauty Gift:
FFØR is a luxury vegan and cruelty-free haircare range that has just launched a new volume spray. Re:Vamp Spray contains pea peptides to condition and thicken hair and hyrdrolyzed soy protein for moisture.
Only a few weeks back, I sampled the brand’s Super Shine Gloss Mist which has a delicious scent. The two products together work perfectly as a Mother’s day gift.
The volume spray is made up of 93% ethically sourced and naturally derived ingredients. It also contains no sulphates, mineral oil or synthetic colours. If your mum is particular on the type of hair products she uses, FFØR is a great brand to introduce her to.
The Afternoon tea Mother’s Day Gift:
As you can see, this Strawberry Afternoon Tea set by Bradford Bakers looks incredible. The bakery is family owned and has been running since 1924. The set arrived beautifully wrapped in a gold box with everything concealed. The food is freshly made to order which is evident when you taste it.
Inside is a Victoria sponge cake with jam and buttercream, English breakfast tea, the bakery’s own strawberry and raspberry jam, three sultana scones accompanied with clotted cream and four chocolate dipped strawberries with a free gift card.
What could be better than inviting your mum round for tea and then presenting this set. I was impressed with how well it arrived in the post.
The Relaxing Gift:
Arran Sense of Scotland is a cruelty-free brand inspired by the landscapes on the Isle of Arran. The location for instance, inspired their best-selling bath salts from the After The Rain collection – a signature fragrance designed to capture the fresh scent of an Arran garden after a rainstorm.
It was actually my mum who got me into bath salts when I was struggling with muscle ache. Bath salts can also help with sleep, relaxation and ease stress. Out of the many I have sampled, these bath salts have the most heavenly fragrance. They are also rich in magnesium and minerals such as iron and potassium.
Arran use recyclable plastic for their bottles and are committed to sustainable action such as moving to 100% renewable energy at their manufacturing sites.
The new mum pampering gift:
Little Butterfly create organic, vegan, cruelty-free and dermatology tested products for new mums and babies. The products contain no skin irritants or harmful ingredients.
If there is a new mum in your life (including yourself) you cannot go wrong with this Pamper Gift Box. Containing a cooling leg gel to help ease pregnancy strains (also works well on tired legs and feet in general), a nourishing stretch mark butter which boosts cell regeneration and provides lipid barrier protection, as well as a toning body serum to restore elasticity, improve firmness and assist in activating fat breakdown at a cellular level.
In a keep-sake box, the products are all wrapped and ready to gift with a bag included. Little Butterfly uses recyclable packaging in addition to trusted supplies who practise sustainable and responsible production methods.
The environmentally-friendly gift:
If you want to use Mother’s Day as a way to fully give back to the planet, Treedom is the first platform where you can plant a tree from a distance and then follow its story.
You can choose where to place your tree which will be planted directly by a local farmer. Once they are planted, the farmers own the trees which can be used to help supplement their income. To date, the company has planted over 3 million trees in rural communities.
The wonderful aspect of Treedom is that once you have planted a tree, you can see overtime what it is helping to achieve for both the environment and the community it has been planted in.
